Characters: They're okay +0
You don't really get to know much about Zoe, the main character. She's adorable looking though. Other than her there's a bunch of people who you don't even need to talk to. no real development of any sort.
Graphics: I like them +1
Classic NES style pixel art. They are very well done and follow the NES color schemes that were allowed on the NES. They use nice colors and all of the animations look pretty decent.
Music: I like it +1
The game features only a few song but they're all very good. I would have liked a few more songs though but based on the style of game it is (NES Metroid) it's understandable that there's onyl a few.
Story: It's okay +0
The story telling in this game is mostly told through a cutscene at the very beginning of the game. Other than that the story IS what you play. It's pretty basic and nothing that you haven't seen already before.
Gameplay: I like it +1
The gameplay is very fun! It plays like a metroid game where you can stumble upon powerups that make progressign easier. They're mostly all required but there's a few you can skip. Also There's a lot of unintended features that I really enjoy. Wall jumping and block jumping are fairly simple to do, even though they weren't intended.
Final Score: 8/10
This is an indie Metroidvania game available on steam. It's not a game you're going to want to play for the story line, but rather for it's awesome game play! If you enjoy games like Metroid, Castlevania, Hollow Knight, Child of Light, Ori and the Blind Forest, you should definitely check this game out!
All games start out a 5/10 and gain or lose points from there.
